Neomi Katerina Fox | 18 | Rogue Mutant | Mind Control

Neomi Katerina Fox has never lived a normal life. Born a mutant to two normal parents she always worked to try to hide her forming powers until she was thrown out onto the streets at the age of 12 after accidentally torturing her younger brother while angry. Neomi survived on the streets for a year, somehow using her abilities to keep herself safe and supplied with things she needed until she was discovered by a team of hunters who were paid to track down rogue mutants. In the process of her capture Neomi paralyzed three of her four assailants before being captured by the fourth mutant who brought her to their headquarters.

There, Neomi found a man by the name of Aleksandr Moltev, a Russian immortal mutant looking for other powerful rogue mutants to train as assassins and spies to take down his enemies and create his own personal army.

The idea was abhorrent at first. Neomi couldn’t imagine working for someone else just to become a killer and a spy. It wasn’t who she was… But Aleksandr promised something she had always longed for: A way to be in complete control.

So she stayed.

And for the past 6 years she has done nothing but hone her abilities while learning new skills (such as physical combat and lock-picking), taking on missions… and killing.

But three months ago Neomi’s life changed when Aleksandr’s home was bombed, killing him and every other mutant inside while she was out on a mission with a small team. When Neomi returned, watching as the embers in the ashes of the house still glowed, she chose that moment to be free and ran away again, this time, she ended up being discovered by Professor Xavier and was brought into the school to meet him.

Neomi now lives at the school, though she still considers herelf (and is seen by other as) a rogue. At school Neomi is often placed in solitary for choosing to use her powers on her fellow classmates and even teachers if possible. She plays by her own set of rules and isn’t afraid to let others know it. If she’s your friend, there’s no end to her loyalty, if she bothers to see you as an enemy, there’s no end to her revenge. She has no friends in her eyes, only acquaintances, and even they are just seen as people she tolerates. At times she may fool others, choosing to take on a “role” as she did in her past life as an assassin, toying with others just for the thrill of it. No one knows why she decided to stay, most people doubt that Neomi herself knows, but if you asked anyone about her most would advise you just keep your distance. This Kat has definite claws.

Personality: Neomi is a bit of an enigma. Half of her life has been spent becoming whoever she needed to be to fill a role and fulfill a purpose. Most often, her true personality is a mixture of dry wit and sarcasm that easily turn to vicious quips when angry. Neomi does not use her powers as a first or last resort, but instead mingles them into her everyday life when she chooses. On her best days she can be fun and care free, and on her worse… well, try to avoid her on those days. Any day in between will involve her keeping you at an arm’s length at all times. Most people know her story, but many chalk it up to whispered rumors around school and she doesn’t intend on changing that. She’s never talked to anyone in-depth about her past life and the odds of that changing are slim. While Neomi likes to believe that she’s invulnerable, like most mutants, her true weaknesses stem from her own personality and insecurities.

Neomi is a high level telepath who specializes in mind control which enables her to:

Manipulate/influence the minds of others
Warp perceptions
Project mental illusions
Bury memories and plant false memories
Induce pain
Cause temporary mental and/or physical paralysis in others.

Neomi is only able to fully possess another mind when she is physically able to touch them. Only then can she hear their thoughts if she opens her own mind to it.
